The community garden located within the Allegheny Cemetery on Stanton Avenue just below Woodbine Street will hold a sign-up day on Saturday, April 11th from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm. Garden plots are roughly 20’x20′ and $20 for the growing season.
Gardeners work their own plots, but there are group project/cleanup days every so often throughout the season. On Saturday, the current gardeners will be installing new fencing from a Grow Pittsburgh grant. This means all of the old fencing will be removed and the new fencing will look better and provide better protection from deer and other varmints. Even if you’re just curious about what everyone grows and want to compare notes with fellow gardeners in your neighborhood, feel free to stop by Saturday or anytime!
