SHNA 2nd Annual Progressive Dinner

SECOND CALL

Announcing Stanton Heights Neighborhood Association Progressive Dinner – Saturday, June 17, at 5:30 p.m.

SAVE THE DATE – TELL YOUR NEIGHBORS

Plans are in the making for the SHNA 2nd Annual Progressive Dinner. Please let us know if you are interested in coming and/or if you would like to host one of the courses (Appetizers, Main Meal, Dessert). It is potluck, so hosts do not have to provide everything. Just tell us the number of people you can accommodate and if you have a course preference. More details will be sent as soon as we hear from you. Invitations will be sent the end of May. This is a casual and fun evening for adults. Last year we had about 20 people. Everyone enjoyed getting to know neighbors and eating great food.

Help Plan our Festival!

The 5th Annual Stanton Heights Community Festival will take place in August 2017 and we are still looking for volunteers to help make it a success!  The planning committee will meet Thursday, April 20 at 7:00 pm.  For information on the location of the meeting or if you have any questions, please contact Nettie at: 412-661-2587 OR poppygramy@comcast.net

Assistance is needed with identifying entertainment & music, planning games, soliciting donations from area businesses, and brainstorming other ways to make this year’s festival even better!  All are welcome to join the committee or volunteer their services.

Yard Sales could be CANCELLED – Help Wanted

This year Stanton Heights Neighborhood Association is again seeking volunteers to help coordinate our annual community yard sales. Volunteers are needed prior to the event to select a date, create and collect sign-up forms, develop a map of sales, and place advertisements for the sales. Typically the yard sales have been held in late May or June. With a busier than usual Spring and earlier summer, we are considering moving the sales to this fall.

If you are able to help with any of the above listed tasks, please contact SHNA President Lissa Geiger Shulman at lissa.geiger@gmail.com.  If we do not receive enough interest, we will cancel the event this year.

March Happy Hour!

Join us for our monthly happy hour on Thursday, March 23 from 6-8pm at Full Pint Wild Side Pub.  Come early for happy hour specials including half-priced drafts from 5 to 6:30! An insider told us they have delicious snacks, sides, and flatbreads around $5-$6, as well as extra large sandwiches served with kettle chips for $9-$14.  The kids menu includes a $6 grilled cheese with chips and apple juice.  See you there!
