Shane Gring is a mission-based creative seeking to even the odds for future generations by building campaigns, bringing people together and taking action.
After graduating from Miami with a degree in architecture in 2009, he started his career in Boulder, Colorado, serving with AmeriCorps at Habitat for Humanity, building affordable, green homes for low-income families.
He then launched a start-up called BOULD that sought to address the “experience gap” in the green building industry by matching young professionals to “green seeking” affordable housing projects in their community.
The program provided green building opportunities for over 400 developing professionals, while also supporting over 40 LEED-certified affordable homes to low-income families across 10 states. The program was eventually integrated with U.S. Green Building Council social equity platform.
In 2016, Shane transitioned to a career in digital design and development with Function.
Shane is based in Pittsburgh, PA, calls the Stanton Heights neighborhood home, with his wife, Skyler and tiny Pomeranian, Finley.
