Winter Walk with the Green Committee

Start 2015 with brisk January walk around Stanton Heights! The newly formed Green Committee will be leading a walking tour of the neighborhood, showing areas of progress and areas where we’d like to focus in the upcoming year. This is the perfect opportunity to get involved and learn more about the work your neighbors have done to keep Stanton Heights a beautiful community through projects such as:

snowWalkers will meet at 11:00 am on January 24th by the former Methodist Church sign (now the Three Rivers Village School) at Stanton Court West & Stanton Avenue. The tour will conclude with a bonfire and light refreshments near the community compost. Dress warmly and bring a neighbor – everyone is welcome!

Volunteers Needed to Clean Up the Allegheny Greenway

Allegheny CleanWays’ Dumpbusters will be clearing one of the illegal dump sites in the Allegheny River Greenway*.  They are not able to clean up all sites, so we are grateful to Allegheny CleanWay for tackling this one!

Dumpbusters’ experienced volunteers are preparing the site for clean-up now and are looking for additional neighborhood volunteers to join them in a major effort on Saturday, November 9th. This is a steep site, so volunteers should be sure-footed, adventurous and at least 16 years of age (those under 18 must bring the attached waiver signed by a parent.)

The clean up is on Saturday, November 9th from 9:30am to 1:00pm. This includes a training at the start and pizza at the end.
