Holiday Happy Hour at The Pleasure Bar

holidayhappyhourThe weather outside is not quite frightful, so you’ll have no excuse to miss the Stanton Heights Neighborhood Association’s holiday themed happy hour! This month’s gathering will take place on Wednesday, December 16th from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at the Pleasure Bar, 4729 Liberty Ave, Bloomfield. We’ll meet in the room adjacent to the bar, on the right. Take a break from your holiday happenings and join your neighbors for a festive beverage and a good laugh!

* Please note that while parking on the street is free after 6 p.m., ticketing in the back lot continues until 10 p.m.

What’s happening in & around Stanton Heights this November? Here’s a handy list to help you keep track!


Questions about your water bill? A representative from PWSA will be attending the Morningside Area Community Council Meeting on Wednesday, November 4th, to  answer questions about PWSA billing and speak about new PWSA initiatives and accomplishments. The meeting starts at 6:00 pm at the Morningside VFW (1820 Morningside Avenue). Stanton Heights residents are welcome to attend!


hopfarmThe next Stanton Heights Neighborhood Happy Hour will be held on Thursday, November 12th from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Hopfarm Brewing (5601 Butler Street). Don’t miss out on an evening of fun times with a fantastic group of neighbors!


SHNA Board Elections will take place at our upcoming community meeting on Wednesday, November 18th. We will meet at Sunnyside from 6:30 – 8:00 pm in the Library. You must be a current member of the association in order to vote. If you’d like to join SHNA at the meeting, dues are only $5 per person for the year. What a bargain!



sign driveConcerned about speed in the neighborhood? At our recent community meetings, some members have expressed interest in using signage to help calm traffic on Stanton Heights’ busy streets. If you’d like to participate and purchase a sign for your own yard, you can do so here.

June Happy Hour – In the Neighborhood

What: June Neighborhood Happy Hour

When: Thursday, June 25, 2015; 6:00 – 8:00 pm

Where: 4415 Stanton Avenue and the alley at Price Way

Come out and share some food and drink and meet your neighbors. For the last six months, The Stanton Heights Neighborhood Association has been organizing neighborhood happy hours at local bars and restaurants. We decided to bring the happy hour to the neighborhood for the summer months. In June, we will be meeting at the home of Michael and Jennifer Sturges for smoked pulled pork and drinks. The festivities will spill into the alleyway at Price Way and Woodbine St. for cornhole and other backyard games. Feel free to bring food or drink, but you do not need to bring anything to join us.


May 28th: Happy Hour at the Bulldog Pub

SAMSUNG CSCJoin us for our next monthly neighborhood happy hour on Thursday, May 28th from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. We will meet at the Bulldog Pub in Morningside for food, drinks, and great conversation with your neighbors. If the weather cooperates, we will meet on their back patio! Share this invitation with your neighbors – we hope to see you there!

New Meeting Location + Happy Hour!

The next regularly scheduled meeting of the Stanton Heights Neighborhood Association will take place on Wednesday, January 21st from 6:30 – 8:00 pm at the Three Rivers Village School. (Please Note: this is a change from our usual location at Sunnyside elementary.) The Three Rivers Village School is located in the former Methodist Church at 4721 Stanton Avenue.

On the meeting agenda: Community Consultant Ron Porter of RDP Consulting Services will facilitate a discussion on goals for the neighborhood association, including sharing the results of our recent online survey. Your participation in this process is important, and we hope you can attend!

Don’t forget: This Thursday, January 15th is our monthly neighborhood happy hour! We will meet at Stinky’s Bar & Grill in Lawrenceville at 6:00 pm.
