Priorities for Stanton Heights

"Priorities" Road Sign with dramatic clouds and sky. What’s great about Stanton Heights? What challenges do we face? How can we improve the quality of life for our residents? These questions and more were the topic of discussion at our last community meeting on February 5, 2015. The Stanton Heights Neighborhood Association (SHNA) board of directors invited the community to an open board meeting to engage in a discussion facilitated by consultant Ron Porter. Mr. Porter is working with the neighborhood to identify priorities and challenges for the community, and provide a foundation of goals for the group to work toward in the future. You can read his notes on the meeting here.

Many neighbors expressed their love of the green spaces and diversity of residents within Stanton Heights, while acknowledging the challenge of unifying a neighborhood that is split by city council districts and lacks a common meeting place or business district. The discussions opened up many exciting ideas and potential community projects, and there was enthusiasm among those in attendance to share news of upcoming meetings & events with their neighbors.

This engaging discussion will be continued at our next regularly scheduled SHNA meeting on March 18, 2015 from 6:30 – 7:00 pm at the Three Rivers Village School. Please join us!!
